About Choose Like Buddha
You already know the wise response. You’ve read about pausing, about right speech, about letting go. The hard part is the moment itself: the sharp email, the friend who wants honest feedback, the thing you can’t stop replaying. That’s where most of us react instead of respond.
Choose Like Buddha is a short daily practice for that moment. It doesn’t teach you more about mindfulness. It shows you how you actually use it.
No right answer, on purpose
Each day brings five short items, one from each of five concepts: a check-in on what you noticed, something you already did, and something you might do. It takes about a minute.
Each item offers two options a thoughtful person might choose. Tell a friend the hard truth, or spare them for now? Wait, or press? Neither is marked correct, and nothing is scored. If a situation didn’t come up for you, you can say so and it counts as nothing at all.
That’s the whole design. A quiz with a right answer teaches you to pass it. Two honest options ask which way you actually lean.
The gap between would and did
The five concepts are Right Speech, Kindness, Patience, Letting Go and Mindfulness. Each holds a real tension: sparing someone or telling them, softening it or letting it land, waiting or pressing, setting it down or keeping it live, letting it pass or marking it.
Your answers place you somewhere between each pair. Patterns shows where you sit, and the distance between what you’d choose and what you actually did. The aim isn’t to land at either end. It’s to close that gap.
What else is in the app
Ask Buddha. Describe a real situation and get a perspective drawn from Buddhist teaching. It’s AI-generated and it isn’t therapy. Use it as a second look before you decide.
Breathe. Guided breathing for when you need to settle before you choose. Sama (box) breathing is free. Ānāpānasati, Mettā and Vase come with the Enlightened Path.
You don’t need to be Buddhist
Buddhism here is a practical lens, not a belief to sign up for. The concepts are old. The situations are yours: work, family, money, the drive home.
