  • Apple ID identifier (for Sign in with Apple)

This information is used only to identify your account and save your progress.

App Usage Data

We collect limited app usage data to provide core features, including:

  • Quiz answers
  • Daily progress and statistics
  • Subscription status

This data is used only to display your personal progress and app functionality.

Health Information

The app provides mindfulness and decision-making guidance. However, the app does not collect, store, or process health or fitness data about users.

Any questions entered in the “Ask Buddha” feature are used only to generate responses and are not analyzed as health information.

Food and Body Awareness Data

If you use the food and body awareness feature, the app may store:

  • Food entries you create
  • Body or mood notes associated with foods

This data is entered voluntarily and stored to support app features.

Ask Buddha (AI-Generated Guidance)

If you use the Ask Buddha feature, the questions you submit are sent to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) to generate personalized responses inspired by Buddhist wisdom. We do not store your questions or the AI-generated responses on our servers. Questions are processed in real time and are not linked to your account or identity.

Notifications

The app may send local notifications to remind you about mindful practices. These notifications:

  • Are scheduled locally on your device
  • Do not collect or transmit any data
  • Can be enabled or disabled in app settings

Notification preferences are stored only on your device and are not synced to our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Save and sync your progress across devices
  • Display personal progress charts
  • Provide access to premium features
  • Improve app stability and user experience

We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising.

Information may be shared only when necessary to:

  • Authenticate users (Sign in with Apple)
  • Process subscriptions through Apple In-App Purchases
  • Comply with legal obligations

Tracking

Choose Like Buddha does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use advertising identifiers.

We collect anonymized usage analytics (such as feature usage and app events) through PostHog to improve the app experience. This data does not include personal information and is not used for advertising purposes.

Data Storage and Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

Your Rights and Choices

  • You may use the app without creating an account, with limited features.
  • You may update or change your name in the app settings.
  • You may cancel subscriptions at any time through your Apple ID settings.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly from the app settings.

When you delete your account:

  • Your account information is permanently removed
  • Your saved progress and personal data are deleted
  • This action cannot be undone

Some information may be retained temporarily if required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Children’s Privacy

Choose Like Buddha is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchases and subscriptions
  • Supabase — Secure cloud database for storing your account and progress data
  • PostHog — Privacy-focused analytics to understand app usage and improve features (hosted in EU)
  • Anthropic — AI service used to generate Buddhist wisdom responses in the Ask Buddha feature

These services are governed by their respective privacy policies. We do not share personal information with these services beyond what is necessary for core functionality.
